Daco Solutions Installs 50th Machine
August 2004 saw us install our 50th machine in a little over two years. The Daco DTD250 was installed at Sanbesan, Barcelona, Spain. Daco Solutions was established in January 2001 by David Beynon. The first year was spent designing some of the product range, and this included the Daco Combi turret rewinder, Daco DT250 slitter rewinder and the SI inspection rewinder. The machines were then launched at Labelexpo 2001.

A Smart grant from Business Link enabled the design and prototype manufacture of the Daco DTD250. The Daco DTD250 tabletop rotary die cutter was launched in September 2002. Mr Santi Benimeli from Sanbesan was a broker of thermal transfer labels and looked at various ways to improve his profitability. He decided that he needed to produce the labels himself. Mr Benimeli looked at many types of equipment from old label printing machinery with converting capabilities to dedicated rotary die cutters. Mr Benimeli visited Daco Solutions for a machine demonstration and was impressed with the machine speed of 150m/min, the quick setup times and short web path that keeps wastage to a minimum. The machine was ordered, and with help and guidance from RotoMetrics, a tooling package was put together. The machine was delivered four weeks later, and Mark Laurence (Sales Manager) and David Beynon installed the machine and gave operator training. The machine was in full production within 2 hours of been unpacked from its shipping crate. Daco Solutions have now exported machines to 18 different countries.
